Gregory Corcoran is a native of New England, but he has been living in New Jersey since 1988 in Lawrenceville since returning to the United States in 2004 from Hong Kong.  He spent 22 years at The Wall Street Journal or its associated publications, rising from News Assistant to News Editor.  While at the Wall Street Journal, he held a foreign post in Hong Kong as Corporate News Editor-Spot News at The Asian Wall Street Journal; helped to manage the copy desk of the Global News Desk that edited stories for The Asian Wall Street Journal, the Wall Street Journal Europe and the U.S. version of The Wall Street Journal.   Lastly, he was a news editor in the Journal’s Money and Investing section to drive coverage of merger-and-acquisitions, banking, bankruptcy and personal-finance beats.   Greg was part of The Wall Street Journal staff that was awarded the 2002 Pulitzer Price for Breaking News Reporting on the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

After experiencing most of what journalism could offer over that 22-year career, Greg decided to pursue his life-long interest in the law.  After graduating Seton Hall University School of Law in January 2013 and passing the Bar in New York and New Jersey, Greg came to Markowitz O’Donnell, LLP, where he serves as the firm’s primary bankruptcy practitioner, handling both debtor and creditor representations.   He also represents borrowers being sued in foreclosure, navigating clients through foreclosure alternatives and loan modifications, as well as representing clients in other general civil, real estate, collection and municipal litigation.

Greg helps to edit and update the Westlaw New Jersey Practice Series, Business Law Deskbook, mostly dealing with chapters related to New Jersey’s Revised Uniform Limited Liability Act, Partnerships and Taxation.

Gregory Corcoran currently is a member of the Bankruptcy American Inn of Court, the Mercer County Bar Association and the New Jersey Bar Association.
