Law enforcement authorities reportedly arrested three Bergen County residents for drugs on Feb. 21 following a month-long investigation. Those detained included a 25-year-old man, a 24-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man.
A 39-year-old man from Atco has posted $35,000 in bail and been released from the Ocean County Jail. He had been arrested in Manchester on Jan. 30 after police searched his 2005 Ford Taurus when it was parked near Spruce Drive in the Richard Estates neighborhood. According to the police report, the presence of the vehicle was deemed suspicious and three officers investigated it.
In an Aug. 12 report, New Jersey authorities released details about a traffic stop that occurred on July 29 in Hunterdon County that resulted in two men being detained on drug charges. Clinton Township police reportedly received information that the two men would be at a gas station located at the Route 31 and Payne Road intersection with drugs in their possession.
A total of 13 individuals were recently arrested for drug crimes following a multi-county drug bust. The arrests were made after an investigation, which authorities say involved multiple agencies and lasted six months. Although the charges faced by these individuals are serious, anyone who faces a drug charge in New Jersey will be given the chance to defend themselves against the allegations in court.
A Hopatcong restaurant is in the news again for yet another drug crime near its premises. Last week, a Paterson man was arrested in the area and charged with possession of heroin, intent to distribute heroin, the distribution of heroin near a park zone and resisting arrest.
Drug trafficking is among the most serious drug-related charges people can face here in New Jersey. This is, in part, because drug trafficking is often prosecuted at the federal level. Federal drug offenses can lead to significant jail sentences, among other consequences.
Three Trenton residents have been arrested and charged with drug offenses, the Mercer County Prosecutor's office says. The arrests were the culmination of a two-month investigation.
