Repeat New Jersey drunk driver in yet another car accident

A man already on a five-year probation sentence following repeated drunk driving accidents is facing as much as 10 years behind bars. Prosecutors in a courthouse in Trenton say that he violated his probation by having another accident in another state. One of his multiple drunk driving convictions involved an accident that caused a fatality.

In the latest car accident, the 42-year-old crashed into another vehicle while going the wrong way on the road. He admitted to driving recklessly and was convicted of a misdemeanor.

But one of the conditions of his probation was to stay out of trouble. He initially was supposed to serve a five-year sentence of incarceration as part of a plea agreement for trying to elude the charges in the fatal accident, but was granted leniency in the form of probation.

Prosecutors are now arguing that he should definitely be imprisoned for a long time since his repeated accidents and unrepentant drunk driving shows that he is a menace to others on the highway and completely irresponsible.

She noted that he continues to drive in a drunken condition, menacing other drivers, pedestrians, and passengers in other vehicles as well as his own.

Intoxicated drivers cause many car accidents resulting in the loss of innocent lives and serious injuries that often maim people for life.

He could be incarcerated for as long as 10 years and will be sentenced next month.

While he faces a long time behind bars, it pales beside the ultimate price paid by his victim.

Anyone who has suffered injuries or loss of a loved to a drunk driver should contact an attorney experienced in holding irresponsible people accountable for their wrongdoing.
