New Jersey drug charge: Authorities arrest 6 in Pine Hill

Authorities in New Jersey have taken a total of six people into custody and charged them with drug crimes. The arrests come after a lengthy investigation by police that lasted approximately 30 days. Police officers claim to have confiscated heroin, crack cocaine, drug manufacturing equipment and other paraphernalia and narcotics during the search and seizure operation. Although these arrested individuals will now face more than one drug charge in criminal court, they will still have the chance to defend themselves in court.

The arrests, which occurred on April 4, happened while officers were executing a warrant to search a home in Pine Hill. The specific drugs allegedly seized included heroin, marijuana, crack cocaine and methamphetamine. Officers also claim to have seized Oxycodone, methadone, Busiprone and fentanyl citrate (which is often mixed with heroin). In addition to the drugs, authorities say they confiscated heroin manufacturing and packaging equipment and hypodermic needles.

Three of those arrested, who allegedly were living in the home, will face charges of operation and maintaining a drug manufacturing site used to make Schedule I drugs. These individuals will also face charges relating to the manufacture, possession and distribution of heroin. They have also been charged with a variety of other crimes relating to possession of various drugs and paraphernalia. The three other individuals have been charged with loitering to obtain dangerous and controlled substances.

No matter what kind of drug charge a New Jersey resident faces in court, the consequences can be severe if they are convicted. The three individuals who resided in the home at issue in this case, however, face the severest of potential consequences -- and they could spend many years behind bars. It will therefore be essential for them to orchestrate the most intelligent legal defense possible regarding their drug charges. If their defense is successfully navigated, they could succeed in getting a dramatic reduction in sentencing. Some of them may also be able to show their innocence and get their charges dropped completely during the litigation of their criminal proceedings.
