Bergen County crash leaves 3 generations injured

A tragic accident happened last month that has left two women seriously injured and a child with minor injuries. Though no one suffered life-threatening injuries, the two women who were hurt will face considerable recovery times to overcome what has happened to them. Fortunately, police have someone in custody that is accused of causing the crash.

This was not a typical car accident, however. The man who caused the accident was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash. It is not entirely clear what his blood alcohol levels were at the time of the crash, but police are treating this as a drunk driving accident. Moreover, he is facing some serious criminal charges.

While the mother and grandmother who were seriously injured in the accident may appreciate the criminal charges, they won't necessarily receive any compensation should he be convicted. If they want their medical bills paid, money for their pain and suffering, or anything for their lost wages, then they will want to file a personal injury lawsuit.

The 9-year-old girl who was injured in the accident was the daughter of the mother. The mother was inside her legally parked car at the time of the crash. The grandmother was helping her granddaughter out of the vehicle.

According to reports, the drunk driver was coming around a curve when he lost control of his car. He then smashed into the other vehicle.

Both of the women who were seriously injured suffered internal bleeding and broken bones. Fortunately, the girl was able to escape the brunt of the crash.
